About U s

Earthcare Earthshare is an environmental educational organisation dedicated to preserving a healthy/vital environment for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of present and future children.

Along with educating for sustainability and natural resource management there is an increasing recognition of the seriousness of climate change/global warming and urgent need for action.

Thankfully these issues are becoming part of today’s public conversation and debate as a response to the growing realisation and concern for our planet’s health.

Earthcare Earthshare recognises our present unsustainable scale of human consumption and questions closely whether we are depriving our grandchildren and future generations of the sorts of opportunities we now take for granted.

We need to address the present and future impact of climate change on our children. ECES also recognises the costs on their emotional wellbeing as a result of the pace of our modern lifestyle that increasingly disconnects and removes them from the natural environment. E.O.Wilson in Rivkin 1995, Kahn and Keller 2003.

Earthcare Earthshare programs advocate long-term thinking with emphasis on the impact on future generations of moderate and precautionary life practices rather than excess.  To achieve this it is recommended as a society we have a ‘change of heart’ in our approach to the natural world and to each other.
Earthcare Earthshare achieves this quite simply through its unique approach in use of story and reconnecting our children and our selves to the wonders of our natural world.

1. Earthcarer Eco Programs
In Educating and creating an awareness of Sustainable Living and Climate Change ECES has developed a “Wise Lives Now!” Program that assists children’s understanding of climate change, its affects, the need now for urgent action, our responsibilities to future generations and practical ways that each and everyone of us can change a simple life style habit to contribute to making a difference.

Earthcare Earthshare has recently forged a partnership with Landcare in a joint schools program funded by the Natural Resources Advisory Council to educate our children about sustainability and natural resource management and advocating and encouraging schools to adopt and include Landcare values and practices into their schools.

2. Earthsharer Personal Development Programs.
In regards to our children’s emotional wellbeing we have developed personal development programs based on renowned Dr. Pat Palmers successful approach. www.drpatpalmer.com.
As teachers in the classroom and parents at home we experience the increasing social pressures on our children.  Stress, self-image, peer pressure, family breakdown, abuse, depression and suicide influence and impact on children’s school and family life. Again as educators we are increasingly being made aware of our children’s lack of or disconnection with things environmental and spiritual. Earthsharer Personal Development Programs targets improving children’s attitudes and feelings towards the environment and ultimately their emotional well-being.

3. Earthcare Earthshare Overseas and International Schools Programs
The programs seek to address worldwide issues and therefore can be adjusted to suit specific local or global needs.  For most English speaking western and North American countries the programs will need little adjustment.

4. Businesses and Companies
For businesses and companies we offer opportunities to ‘give something back’ to the environment. The website provides simple interactive ideas on how to make businesses more sustainable, energy efficient and environmentally friendly.  Importantly how they can invest in the promotion of the Programs through sponsorship and in turn be promoted as an eco friendly corporate citizen.

5. Family Guestbook
As with business our website offers simple interactive ideas to families on how to make their homes more energy efficient and their living habits more sustainable.

6. China Teacher Study Tours
Apart from developing environmental and personal development programs ECES have recently developed close cultural and friendship ties with schools in China and Taiwan and are in a great position to offer study tour opportunities to our teachers and students private and public schools. In the classroom it provides opportunities to develop links with teachers to allow students/classes to develop friendships and communicate through email and video diaries, share insights on their lives and a variety of environmental, cultural and social issues. As China is now one of Australia 's major trading partner and we should be looking to developing closer ties with our Asian neighbour. We feel that educational study tours are valuable and can contribute much to developing closer friendship ties between our two countries.
